It’s a Gaga Christmas in New York

This is the time of year that all New York fashionistas look forward to…Barney’s holiday campaign and windows.  So when it came time for Barney’s creative directors to think of the perfect holiday collection that would top last year, they turned to one of the biggest selling artist in the world…Lady Gaga!  The holiday 2011 campaign titled GAGA’S WORKSHOP, modeled after the concept of Santa’s workshop, will take over the entire fifth floor of the Men’s store at Barneys.  The reveal which was shown yesterday to fashion starlets, journalist, bloggers and celebrities will also be supported in Barney’s most iconic Madison Avenue windows.

“GAGA’S WORKSHOP is the largest and most completely realized holiday project ever undertaken in the history of Barneys New York and we are beyond thrilled to present it this season,” said Mark Lee, Barneys’ CEO. “We hope to raise significant funds to benefit the Born This Way Foundation and we thank Lady Gaga, Nicola Formichetti, Eli Sudbrack and avaf, as well as all of the collaborators and vendors who have worked so hard to make this holiday initiative come to life.”

In GAGA’S WORKSHOP, there will be eight stations and all those stations will reflect the products that will be available for purchase.  Even more exciting is that some of these products are replicas of iconic Lady Gaga items!!  The stations will be…Candy Shop, Toy Shop, Closet (for clothing and accessories), Library (for books and CDs), Gallery (for collectibles and specialty items), Jewelry, Boudoir (for candles and cosmetics), and Holiday themed items.

To honor this iconic collaboration, Barneys will be donating 25% of the sales from all items sold to the Born This Way Foundation.  The foundation, founded by Lady Gaga and her mother, focuses on youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development by planning to utilize digital mobilization as one of the ways to create positive change in our youth.

“Lady Gaga is a rare cultural phenomenon, not only because of her exceptional talents as a singer, songwriter and performer, but also with regard to her support of equality and individuality and status as a fashion icon,” said Mark Lee, Barneys New York CEO. “Partnering with her in this unprecedented collaborative way to create the largest and most all-encompassing holiday theme that Barneys has ever mounted is a thrill. As a New York City landmark, we wanted to celebrate Lady Gaga as a fellow New Yorker and amazing talent.”

Barneys is always known for being the most innovated retailer in the fashion world, and this collaboration puts them on the top of the game. Now if you’re like me, someone who can’t make it to New York this holiday to check out Gaga’s workshop…the collection will also be available on Barneys.com!! Excited now?? I know I am…GAGA’S WORKSHOP
